Bowen Therapy is a soft tissue bodywork technique that can be applied remedially or as a preventative.  This hands on technique is gentle, non invasive, drug free, and often relaxing.  It wakes up the body’s own healing resources to achieve balance and harmony, resulting in fast and lasting relief from pain and discomfort.  Bowen is safe to use on any person or animal, from newborns to the elderly, with positive responses to sports injuries, and both acute and chronic issues.

The EMMETT Technique is a unique form of body therapy. It involves the application of light finger pressure at specific points, referred to as 'Emmett points'. They are not the same as traditional trigger points or acupressure points or any other points described in any other therapy.

The pressure required to stimulate the EMMETT points does not need to be firm or painful. 'No pain no gain' has no place in EMMETT Technique philosophy, which is part of why it's great for animals!

It includes applying the right amount of pressure, in the right direction, for the right amount of time.

Every animal is different with different needs.  Often an acute injury is easy to fix, and often chronic issues take longer to sort out.  However, I have met some animals with chronic issues that resolved quickly, and some with what seemed to be new issues that were actually a new symptom of a long term issue.

Basically, I won’t know until I get my hands on them and see how their body responds.

No, but I can recommend a few different human practitioners 🙂

There is no comparison.  In an emergency I will always recommend a vet.

Vets do all the medical things.  I am a complementary soft tissue therapist who does bodywork.

What I do is compatible with other forms of complimentary health therapies. What I do can be used very successfully on its own, however there are times a combination of therapies will help overcome their problem/s.

I do not suggest trying multiple therapists on the same day as mixing therapies can leave you wondering which therapy is actually working.

I have seen multiple animals go from being happy and friendly, to being snappy and worried when put onto a table.  This is not all animals, however I have found that allowing them to stay on the floor keeps the happier and less stressed than being placed onto a table which many are not used to.

I'm a mobile service, I come to you.

I come to you so the animal can be in their own environment, which is one less stress for them.

Plus, my rescue cats would never let a strange cat or dog in the door!!

I work with people who have almost given up on getting results for their animals. A few years ago I was you.  I'd been throwing every surgery and treatment at my dog Bosco and there was no improvement.  Alternative therapies have been life changing, he can do dog things again like;

Roll onto his back!

Chase a ball!

Use stairs!

Jump onto my bed!

Lift his leg to pee!

Stretch without yelping in pain!

Get in contact if your animal would benefit from what I do.
